The Dew-Not DN012 is designed specifically for 11" OTAs. Its 40.0-inch strip length is calculated to wrap perfectly around the front cell of telescopes like the Celestron C11 or Meade 11" SCT, ensuring full coverage of the corrector plate.

Yes, 18.8 watts is an ideal power level for an 11" telescope in typical dewy conditions. It provides enough thermal energy to keep the large corrector plate clear without introducing tube currents that could degrade image sharpness. For extremely heavy dew, you would simply increase the duty cycle on your dew controller.

You can use any standard 12V DC dew heater controller that has RCA-style output ports. The Dew-Not heater strip comes with a male RCA plug, which is the industry standard for these systems.

The total strip length is 40.0 inches, which includes the fabric and Velcro needed to wrap around the telescope. The actual heating element inside is 39 inches long. This design ensures the entire heated surface makes contact with the optical tube for maximum efficiency.

Thick-film heaters provide a large, flat heating surface that distributes warmth evenly. Traditional nichrome or resistance wire heaters concentrate heat along a thin wire, which can lead to hot spots and uneven performance.
