This combination makes the Super View 30mm an excellent "finder" eyepiece. Instead of searching for faint objects through the narrow field of a high-power eyepiece, you can use its wide perspective to center your target before increasing magnification.

The 2-Inch Barrel Advantage for Maximum Field of View

The 2-inch barrel is essential for achieving such a wide true field of view at a long 30mm focal length. A smaller 1.25-inch barrel would physically vignette the light path, cutting off the edges of the view. This larger format ensures you see every bit of the 68° field your eyepiece is designed to deliver.

• Deep Sky Scanning: The low power and wide field are ideal for observing large, faint nebulae like the North American Nebula (NGC 7000) or the Veil Nebula complex.
• Compatibility Note: To use this eyepiece, your telescope must be equipped with a 2-inch focuser and a 2-inch diagonal. It is not compatible with telescopes that only accept 1.25-inch accessories.
