  • Purosol Microfiber Cloth - 16" x 12"

The Purosol Large Microfiber Cloth gives you a 16" x 12" (41 cm x 30 cm) surface for cleaning telescope lenses, camera lenses, eyepieces and screens. Purosol engineered it to be used with its cleaning fluids, so the cloth picks up the dirt the fluid loosens instead of smearing it around.

    Designed Around Five Fiber Attributes

Purosol used high-powered microscopy to study how different fibers respond to its cleaning formula. That work led to a cloth built around five attributes: fiber size, elasticity, softness, absorbency and weave. The cloth is woven to release dirt particles when used with the Purosol line of formulas, which helps avoid dragging dust across a coated surface.

A Large Cloth for Optics and Displays

The 16" x 12" size covers large objectives, corrector plates and flat-panel displays more easily than a small pocket cloth. Purosol rates it safe for coated optics, camera lenses, flat-panel TVs and displays. As with any cloth, check the surface for hard particles first: grit dragged across a lens can scratch it.

    • Washable and reusable: designed to be washed and reused multiple times.
    • Best with Purosol fluid: pair it with a Purosol cleaner for the results it was designed for.
  • Why use the Purosol Microfiber Cloth instead of a standard cloth on my telescope?

Purosol designed this cloth to work with its cleaning fluids. Its fibers and weave were chosen after microscopic study so that it releases dirt particles when used with Purosol formulas, rather than pushing them around on the glass.

Can I use the 16" x 12" Purosol cloth on my Schmidt-Cassegrain corrector plate?

Yes. Purosol rates the cloth safe for coated optics, and the large size makes it easy to work across a corrector plate. Inspect the plate for sand or grit first and blow it off with an air blower before wiping with the cloth and cleaning fluid.

Can I wash the Purosol Microfiber Cloth?

Yes. The Purosol cloth is washable and reusable; it is designed to be washed and used again multiple times.

Should I use the Purosol cloth with a cleaning fluid?

Yes. Purosol engineered the cloth to be used with its cleaning products, and it works best with Purosol cleaning fluid.

What is the best way to clean a coated camera lens with the Purosol cloth?

First use an air blower to remove loose dust or grit. Then spray a small amount of Purosol cleaner onto a clean area of the cloth, not onto the lens. Wipe gently from the center of the lens outward, and finish with a dry part of the cloth.

What are the five attributes the Purosol cloth was designed around?

Purosol designed the cloth around fiber size, elasticity, softness, absorbency and weave, after studying how different fibers respond to its cleaning formula under high-powered microscopy.
