    Crossed Czerny-Turner Optics: 350nm to 1µm Spectral Range

    The UVEX is designed as a "crossed" Czerny-Turner spectroscope, an optical configuration optimized for a flat field and high image quality across its entire operational range. This achromatic design ensures that it can capture spectra from the near-ultraviolet at 350 nm to the near-infrared at 1 µm, pushing the limits of what modern CMOS and CCD sensors can detect. This allows you to analyze a wide variety of stellar types and emission phenomena, from the Balmer series in hot stars to the infrared signatures of cooler objects.

    F/8 Optimization and Precise M2 Mirror Focusing

    The UVEX is ideally matched to telescopes with an F/8 focal ratio, such as Ritchey-Chretien (RC) systems up to 400mm in diameter. While it can be used on systems as fast as F/5 without vignetting, this comes with a slight degradation in image quality at the edges of the field. Focusing is managed by a precise, multi-turn knob that adjusts the internal M2 mirror, allowing you to achieve a sharp spectrum on your camera sensor without altering your telescope's main focuser.

    Optional Motorization and Included 3.2 kg Padded Case

    Designed for both field and observatory use, the UVEX can be upgraded with an optional motorization module for fully remote operation. For transport and storage, the instrument ships in a shockproof case with custom-cut foam, bringing the total weight to 3.2 kg.   • What type of telescope is best for the UVEX Spectroscope?

    How do I change the spectral resolution with the UVEX?
