  • Starlight Instruments Wireless Control Of Electronic Focuser

Upgrade your Starlight Instruments Focuser Boss II with the Wireless Control module, adding 802.11 WiFi for complete, cable-free command of your focusing system from any web-enabled smartphone or tablet.

802.11 WiFi Upgrade: Control Your Focuser from Any Browser

This 802.11 WiFi module integrates directly with the Focuser Boss II, eliminating the need for a physical data cable to your control computer. Because the Starlight Instruments Wireless Control Of Electronic Focuser hosts its own web interface, no dedicated app is required. Simply connect your device to the network and open a browser to access all focusing controls.

    Router Recommended, Not Required

A wireless router is not required but is recommended. The control pages are generated by the hub itself, so once your device is connected there is no further configuration.

  • Do I need an app to use the Starlight Instruments Wireless Focuser Control?

No. The WiFi module hosts its own web page for control. You connect your device (smartphone, tablet, etc.) and open the hub's control page in any standard web browser, such as Safari or Chrome.

Can I use the Starlight Instruments Wireless Control at a dark sky site without internet?

A wireless router is not required, though one is recommended. The control pages are generated by the hub itself, so no internet connection is needed to use them.

Is this Starlight Instruments WiFi module compatible with the original Focuser Boss?

No, this wireless upgrade is designed specifically for the Starlight Instruments Focuser Boss II Electronic Focuser. It is not compatible with earlier models or other control systems.

What wireless standard does the Starlight Instruments WiFi module use?

The module uses the 802.11 wireless standard, ensuring broad compatibility with modern smartphones, tablets, and laptops.

How is the Starlight Instruments Wireless Control module installed?

The optional WiFi board and antenna can be added to the Focuser Boss II hub and installed at any time. Please refer to Starlight Instruments' documentation for instructions.
