A Rock-Solid Finder Foundation for Your SCT
The Tele Vue SCT Bracket (SAB-1001) is the SCT accessory bracket of Tele Vue's X-Y Adjustable Mount System. Installed on a Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope 8" or larger, it holds the MBC-1001 Mounting Block carrying the X-Y Adjustable Mount (for example to use a Tele Vue 60 as a "superfinder"), or a Starbeam fitted with the SBB-1002 bar, locked in place by a plastic knob.
Engineered for Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescopes
The bracket is made for Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes 8" or larger and is installed with the screws supplied with your SCT.
Installation is straightforward: the bracket is installed on the desired area of your SCT using the screws supplied with the SCT, with the stop screw facing the eyepiece end. Tele Vue intends it as a permanent installation, so the TV-60 on its X-Y Adjustable Mount is instantly removable for field use.
Direct Compatibility with Tele Vue Finders
The bracket takes the MBC-1001 Mounting Block, locked by a plastic knob and backed by a safety stop and safety counterbore, or a Starbeam fitted with the SBB-1002 bar.
On the X-Y Adjustable Mount, the large knob acts as a pivot for the two horizontal adjustment screws and locks the vertical jack screw, so you can align the TV-60 to your SCT.

Will the SAB-1001 fit my specific model of SCT?
Tele Vue makes it for Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes 8" or larger and installs it with screws supplied with the SCT. It does not list specific models, so check that your telescope has a suitable place and screws for it.
Can I use this bracket with non-Tele Vue finders?
Tele Vue makes it to take the MBC-1001 Mounting Block of its X-Y Adjustable Mount and, with the SBB-1002 bar, the Starbeam. It does not list other finders.
Does this bracket require a separate dovetail or finder shoe?
Yes. The finder rides on a separate part that slides into the bracket and is locked by its plastic knob: the MBC-1001 Mounting Block for the X-Y Mount, or the SBB-1002 bar for the Starbeam.
Is the mounting hardware included with the bracket?
No. The bracket is installed using screws supplied with the SCT. The finder side goes on through the MBC-1001 Mounting Block or the SBB-1002 bar, which slides into the bracket and locks with its plastic knob.
Will installing this bracket affect my telescope's balance?
The bracket and a lightweight finder like a Starbeam add minimal weight to the rear of the telescope. Any effect on balance is negligible and easily compensated for by slightly shifting the main dovetail bar on your mount.
