  • Telegizmos 365 Series Cover for Dobsons

The Telegizmos 365 Series Cover for Dobsons is made for continuous 24/7, 365-day outdoor exposure, and its 1 year warranty includes that exposure. It pairs an American-made, 11 oz/sq yd acrylic-coated woven polyester outer cover with a 6 mil solar radiant barrier liner, protecting your telescope from rain and radiant heat build-up. The outer material showed no moisture penetration in a 40 PSI spray test, has a tear strength of more than 30 lbs warp, and has less than 1% shrinkage or stretch.

Dual Material: 11 oz/sq yd Polyester Outer & 6 mil Radiant Liner

The 365 Series' effectiveness comes from its two-part construction. The outer cover is a high-count, American-made woven polyester with an acrylic coating, with resistance to mildew, UV and abrasion.

Inside, a 6 mil liner of TeleGizmos' original solar cover material acts as a radiant barrier, protecting your equipment from radiant heat build-up. As a second inner layer it also adds protection from water penetration.

    Lab-Tested Durability: 325+ lbs/in Tensile Strength & 40 PSI Water Resistance

The outer material was tested to ASTM and AATCC methods, and TeleGizmos tested the 365 Series in use for a year in the desert southwest, the Florida Keys, Colorado at 8000 feet and the Texas Hill Country.

    • Tensile Strength: More than 325 lbs/in warp, more than 265 lbs/in fill (ASTM D5034).
    • Water Resistance: No moisture penetration in a 40 PSI spray test, 1/2 in concentrated stream; hydrostatic more than 25 in; spray rating 90.
    • Tear Strength: More than 30 lbs warp, more than 25 lbs fill (ASTM D2261).
    • Colorfastness: Grade 4 (AATCC 8); exterior weather rating of 5 years.

4 Sizes for 6" to 18" Dobs: How to Choose Your Cover

These covers are for Dobs parked from vertical to 60 degrees down. Compare your Dob's circumference and height with the cover sizes below.

    • T31D: 62" circumference, 53" height (for 6" to 8" Dobs)
    • T32D: 90" circumference, 69" height
    • T33D: 94" circumference, 78" height (for 12" to 14" Dobs)
    • T34D: 115" circumference, 90" height (for 16" to 18" Dobs)

Note on Sizing: For the T32D, compare your Dob with its stated 90" circumference and 69" height.

  • What makes the Telegizmos 365 Series Cover different from a standard cover?

The Telegizmos 365 Series Cover is specifically designed and warranted for continuous, 24/7 outdoor use. It uses a dual-layer system with a heavy-duty woven polyester outer shell and an inner radiant heat barrier, while standard TeleGizmos covers are for temporary outside storage; for more than 1 to 2 weeks of continuous exposure, choose the 365 Series.

How do I choose the correct 365 Series Cover for my Dobsonian?

Compare your Dob, parked from vertical to 60 degrees down, with the cover sizes: T31D 62" circumference, 53" height; T32D 90" circumference, 69" height; T33D 94" circumference, 78" height; T34D 115" circumference, 90" height.

Will the Telegizmos 365 Series Cover protect my telescope from radiant heat?

Yes. The inner solar radiant barrier liner protects your equipment from radiant heat build-up.

Can this cover really stay outside all year in rain?

Yes. The outer material of the Telegizmos 365 Series Cover showed no moisture penetration in a 40 PSI spray test and has a hydrostatic rating of more than 25 inches. TeleGizmos tested the 365 Series for a year in the desert southwest, the Florida Keys, Colorado at 8000 feet and the Texas Hill Country, and the 1 year warranty includes continuous 24/7 outdoor exposure.

Can condensation form under the Telegizmos 365 Series Cover?

Yes, under certain conditions. While the cover keeps rain out, condensation can still form under any cover with large temperature swings, especially in humid conditions.

What does the 1-year warranty on the Telegizmos 365 Series Cover include?

The 1 year warranty runs from the date of purchase and covers labor and material, including continuous 24/7, 365-day outdoor exposure. If the cover fails from a manufacturing or material defect, TeleGizmos repairs or replaces it. It is transferable, proof of purchase is required, and normal wear and tear is excluded.
