    ZWO OAG - Overview

The ZWO OAG is a compact and reliable off-axis guider designed for astrophotographers seeking precise guiding without the need for a separate guide scope. Featuring a large 8*8mm prism, it allows for improved guiding performance and is fully compatible with all ZWO ASI cameras. This guider ensures a stable connection to your telescope, minimizing flexing and ensuring optimal image quality.

    Lightweight and Compact Design

With a thickness of only 16.5mm, the OAG is lightweight, making it a convenient addition to your astrophotography setup.

    Large Prism for Enhanced Guiding

The OAG features an 8*8mm prism, ensuring a wider field of view for accurate and efficient guiding.

    No Guide Scope Needed

The OAG allows you to connect both the main imaging camera and guide camera directly, eliminating the need for a guide scope and simplifying your setup.

    Flexible Compatibility

The OAG is adaptable to various camera and telescope setups, including M42 and M48 connections, providing versatility across different systems.

Fully Compatible with ZWO ASI Cameras

The OAG is designed to work seamlessly with all ZWO ASI cameras, ensuring maximum performance and compatibility.

    Stable and Rigid Connection

The OAG offers a stable, rigid connection to your telescope, reducing the risk of flexing in the imaging train for more reliable results.

    Usage Guide

    1. Calculate Required Distance:
Before attaching the OAG, ensure the correct back focus distance is calculated for your imaging setup. For example, if using an ASI071, attach a 21mm extender to reach a total back focus distance of 55mm: 17.5mm + 21mm + 16.5mm = 55mm.
    2. Attach the OAG Body to the Telescope
Remove the guider prism part and attach the OAG body to the telescope.
    3. Insert the Prism
Once the OAG body is secured, insert the prism part back into the body.
    4. Mount the Guide Camera
Attach your guide camera to the OAG.
    5. Attach the Imaging Camera
Screw the T2 or M48 adapter to the imaging camera based on your mount type and secure it to the OAG.
    6. Final Setu
Ensure the imaging camera is correctly positioned and lock the 3 screws in place to complete the setup.

    Important Notes

    Ensure Prism Clearance:
Make sure the prism does not obstruct the imaging area of your camera.

    Adjust Focus:
Use the guiding screw to fine-tune the focus of the guiding camera, ensuring that both the main imaging camera and the guide camera reach focus at the same position. It's recommended to make this adjustment during the daytime for better accuracy, as adjusting at night can be challenging.
