At its core, the Saddle Powerbox is a high-capacity mounting platform designed for stability and universal compatibility. The saddle accepts both the wider Losmandy D-style plates and the narrower Vixen V-style plates, eliminating the need for adapters. With a supported weight of 40kg (88 lbs), it provides a rigid foundation for heavy optical tubes and fully-loaded imaging trains, ensuring your setup remains secure throughout the night.

10A Power Distribution: 4 x 12V and 2 x PWM Outputs

This device simplifies field power management by centralizing all your 12V equipment. It features four 12V DC outputs that share a total maximum current of 10A, perfect for powering your mount, camera, and other accessories from a single source. Two additional, dedicated PWM channels can each supply up to 4A, allowing for precise, software-controlled regulation of dew heater strips to prevent moisture buildup on your optics.

• Software Control: Every 12V port can be switched on or off through the Pegasus Astro Unity Platform software, giving you remote control over your entire rig.
• Flexible Outputs: The two PWM channels can also be configured to function as standard, constant 12V outputs if you don't require dew control.

Integrated USB 3.1 Hub: 2 SuperSpeed and 2 High-Speed Ports

Cable drag is a primary source of tracking errors and connection failures. The Saddle Powerbox places a 4-port USB hub directly on your telescope, reducing the number of cables running back to your computer to just one. Two USB3.1 SuperSpeed ports provide the bandwidth needed for modern, high-resolution CMOS cameras, while two USB2 High-Speed ports are ideal for your mount, guide camera, or electronic focuser.

Environmental Monitoring: Sensors for ±0.5°C Accuracy and 5-15V Input

Integrated sensors provide critical data about your observing conditions and power supply. An onboard sensor measures ambient temperature with ±0.5°C accuracy and relative humidity, allowing the control software to calculate the dew point and automatically manage your heaters. A built-in voltmeter monitors the input voltage from 5V to 15V, alerting you if your field battery is running low before it impacts your session.

While using separate components allows you to mix and match brands, the integrated design of the Saddle Powerbox offers a clear advantage in efficiency and cable management.
